Steve and I worked together on this painting in 2006, taking turns and collaborating. It hangs in our home now and is one of our favorite shared experiences. The kayak paddle I'm holding matches the painting and was created by Steve in 2013. Love this!

I've been a creative girl as long as I can remember, always making things, painting, writing poetry and dancing. When I was 5 years old I did the two paintings below with a feather as a brush! My Dad's mom (Nonie) framed the paintings and then, hung them up! This says so much about how my entire family was, and is, supportive of my creative efforts. My aunts admired my embroidery, my parents brought me to dance classes for years and I was often given paint, paper and other art supplies growing up. Drawing, doing crafts and dancing were all highly encouraged. I was taught to sew at a young age and rewarded for my interest in the Arts. In 2003, I asked Art Snyder, one of the editors of RubberStampMadness for suggestions on naming my new website. When he came up with creative lenna . . . I thought, that's a great idea & the name stuck!

My involvement in the arts continues to be a big part of my life. When someone asks me what I do, I'll tell them I'm an artist. At 59 (64!) I'm still creating art, sharing, inspiring, dancing, taking photographs and working in my art journals. I love working some creative thinking into everything I do.

Lenna & Steve - 2015

My husband and I live on the Suncoast of Florida - the west coast- and we love it here. In 2009 we moved to Florida from Connecticut with our two sweet dogs Asia and Chloe. They have both since passed at 15 & 16 years old and we miss them. But in 2014 we adopted a Tabby kitten named Lightning and in 2016, rescued a grey Russian Blue cat (we think!) named Luna. Recently, Daisy was adopted in 2021, a little 12 pound Norwich Terrier. We live on the banks of the Braden River, not far from my mom. Florida is our home now and Steve says he will never leave -ha! Below, a photo of me paddling on the Braden River. Both the boat and the paddle were crafted by my husband Steve. I go by this philosophy: Look for the good things in life and savor all the goodness you can.

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.  –Helen Keller
