About

Steve and I worked on this painting together back in 2006, each taking turns. It is one of our favorite experiences. The kayak paddle was created by Steve seven years later in 2013! He made the paddle by hand and then painted it to match our collaborative painting.  :0)

I've been a creative girl as long as I can remember, always making things, painting, writing poetry and dancing. When I was 5 years old I used a feather to paint the two pictures below. My Nonie framed the paintings and hung them in her home! This says so much to me about how my entire family was/is supportive of my creative efforts. My aunts admired my embroidery, my parents brought me to dance classes weekly for years and I was given paint, paper and other art supplies growing up. Drawing, doing crafts and dancing were all highly encouraged! I was taught to sew at a young age and I was rewarded for my interest in the arts. In 2003 I asked Art Snyder, one of the editors of RubberStampMadness for suggestions on naming my new website . . . and when he came up with creative lenna . . . I thought that was a good idea. The name has stuck.

My involvement in the arts continues to be a big part of my life. When someone asks me what I do, I'll tell them I'm an artist. At 58 I'm still creating art, sharing, inspiring, dancing in Nia classes, taking photographs and working in my art journals. I love trying to be creative with everything I do.

Lenna & Steve - 2015

My husband and I live on the Suncoast of Florida (west coast) and we love it here. In 2009 we moved from Connecticut to Florida with our two sweet dogs Asia and Chloe. In 2014 we also adopted a tabby/tiger kitten named Lightning. We live on the shores of the Braden River not far from my mom. Florida is definitely our home now and Steve says he will never leave! Below, a photo of me paddling on the river. Both the boat and the paddle were crafted by my husband Steve. I go by the philosophy of look for and savor all the goodness you receive.

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.  –Helen Keller
